|---|---|
| Prepare Mentally | Review checklists and area of responsibility for your scheduled aircraft. Search for any hidden sabotage / threats. Mental readiness is key. |
| Use Adequate Lighting | Use a flashlight, especially in dark areas or compartments. |
| Systematic Approach | Consistent search pattern, clear sequence (top → bottom, right → left). Confirm completion to FAIC immediately. |
| Check Thoroughly | Include under seats, around cushions, inside seat pockets, tray-table stowage, and all compartments. Check between seat and walls. Lift the footrest to check under the seat. Open the compartment to check the life vest in First / Business. |
| Stay Vigilant | Confirm all ground staff have left the aircraft. Avoid distractions, conduct every search with intent rather than assumption, report anything unusual. |
